1. Pretend that you are talking to a blind man and have to describe for him what "red" is. You should use narrative and descriptive writing techniques, and try to appeal to his other senses!

The color "red" produces a warmth in your cheeks. A blood-curtailing scream pounding against your eardrum. A spicy sensation burning within your taste buds. The sweet aroma of a blossoming rose bush.

2. How does competition function in our society? To what extent is it healthy/unhealthy? Offer some real world examples taken from your life, community, culture, state, nation, or world.

Competition functions as motivation and determination. In sports, the players sometimes see the competition as a friendly game and take pride whether they win or lose, a healthy extent. Other players take competition as the last man the standing wins and purposely hurts and injures other competitors, to that extent it's unhealthy. Parents become hard on their children because of who they are competing with.

3. How have you taken something that you have learned in the classroom and integrated it into your nonacademic life?

I learned to watch out for myself against strangers and predators. One time I noticed a car driving nearby at a slow pace. A man poked his head of the window watching me as I walked by. I sped up my pace, after learning how to spot nasty men I knew what event might occur. I subtly walked faster as they drove behind me. I pulled out my cellphone and ran as fast I could into a store to call the police and my parents. My parents picked me up and drove me home. I was glad I learned what I had learned.

4. If you could go back in time and be someone in history, who would you choose to be? Why?

I would be President George Bush to stop the wars that are still ongoing for his selfish attempt at gaining more land. The wars that had gone on and are still ongoing and we've lost many loved ones to the battle. It's time to stop this. Seeing these wars go on for selfish reasons pains my heart. I know being the President would give me the power to stop such affairs.

5. If you had the responsibility to decide where $1 million should be spent to improve conditions somewhere in the world, what project(s) would you choose? Why?

I would spend the money on Haiti for the families who suffered during the earthquake. many children had lost parents and homes, to the point where they become orphans. These children had gone through so much and lost so much. Families go hungry, cold and sick with no shelter. They deserve homes and to be fed, yet still people start businesses to take the little money these people have. I'd purchased food, clothing and land to rebuild these homes and stop the crisis which should have been dealt with long ago.

6. How have you tried to effect change in relation to an issue of personal, local, or national significance?

I've known their has been abuse in pets and animals. I visited pet shelters and hospitals to care and tend for their sweet animals. Each one was groomed and washed to keep them healthy for anyone who wishes to adopt them. I enjoyed bathing and playing with them on the weekends. Their eyes hoping for me to carry them home, but sadly I couldn't. Although i was able to help a young girl pick out a puppy, she loves him and named him, Rocky. It was a great experience.

7. If you could introduce one new idea or material thing to a primitive culture, what would it be?

I would introduce solar power because it can be useful in many situations where electricity is much too expensive. It helps the Earth along with keeping the mornings and nights light up and cozy. many places such as Africa cannot afford electricity so this idea will be convenient for many places. It would solve many problems around the world as well keep the world safe.
